Obituary



John B. McNeely, Sr., 84, of Huntington, passed away Monday August 24, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Roger Mooney. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery Maple Hill Section, Kenova, WV. He was born January 12, 1931 in Logan County, WV, a son of the late Elbert and Clida Tulip Sauls McNeely. John was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the VFW Post 1064 of Huntington. He retired after 32 years of service as a carman with CSX Railroad and attended the Kellogg Holiness Church of God. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two sons John McNeely, Jr. and Tracy Ray McNeely and two brothers Junior and Billy McNeely. Survivors include his wife of 62 years Adeline Fraley McNeely; two daughters Barbara Bailey and Cheryl Layne; two sons and daughters in law Guy and Sheral McNeely and Bruce and Marsha McNeely; twelve grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; sister Emmer Faye Harrison of Pontiac, MI and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. The family would like to thank the staffs of Hospice of Huntington and the Wayne Ambulance Service. Friends may call from noon until service time on Saturday at the Reger Funeral Home. The Veterans Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 16 of Huntington will conduct graveside military rites.
