Obituary



George Hansford Shore, 87, of Huntington, WV, widower of Eunice Arlene Shore, passed from this life to begin his eternal rest in the presence of the true and living God and His Son, Jesus Christ, on August 12, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. He was born January 27, 1928, the son of the late Waldo “Doc” Shore and Margaret Shore Nichols and was preceded in death by a son, George Scott Shore. Mr. Shore was a retired draftsman for the Army Corp. of Engineers.  He is survived by a brother, William Locke Shore and family of Huntington; a son, William Hansford Shore and family of Chesapeake, OH; Daughters-in-law, Brenda Lee Flemings, who aided in his care, and Deede Pope-Shore of Concord, North Carolina. Granddaughters Lois Jane Shore of Chesapeake, OH; Katey Thompson-McLoney of Morehead, KY; grandsons Benjamin Shore of Chesapeake, OH, and Travis Shore of Concord, North Carolina. Great grandchildren, Breanna Mullins, Jamie and Toby Mullins and Shelby Gail Elkins.  He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Chesapeake, OH, under the teaching of Elder Tom Ross, who will be officiating the services. The family asks that our privacy be respected at this difficult time and we thank each and every one for their prayers and support. Private services will be conducted at Reger Funeral Home for immediate family and church family. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery. The family would like to thank all those at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their professional loving care.
