Obituary



Donald Irvin Casto, 72, of Huntington, WV husband of Monica Johnston Casto, passed away May 6, 2018 at River’s Bend Health Care, South Point, OH. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 7:00pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jamie Gump. Military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 93. Donald was born on August 25, 1945 in Charleston, WV the son of the late Irvin and Ruby Hudson Casto. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his first wife Elaine Wallace Casto. Don was a retired diesel mechanic having started his career with Oliver’s Fuel Co., Cummings Diesel, H&W Trucking, Ruan Transport and retired from Rite Aide Corp. and a veteran of the US Navy having served with MCB-10 Sea Bees with four tours in Viet Nam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze stars and Fleet Marine Force Combat Operations. He was a graduate of WV State College. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son and daughter in law: Daniel and Lori Casto of Waynesboro, VA, step daughters: Jennifer and Russell May of Huntington, WV and Danyel and Gary Allen of Redmond, WA, step grandchildren: Edan May Nichols and husband DJ and Daniel May all of Huntington, Sidnie Estep and Sara Estep of Proctorville, Ohio, and Samuel Allen of Redmond, WA. One brother and sister in law: Gene and Margaret Casto of Tenaha, TX., and special brother in law and sister in law: Jon and Jacque Wallace of Delaware, Ohio. Friends may call from 5-7 pm Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home.
