Obituary



James William Donahoe, 83, of Summerville, SC, formerly of South Point, Ohio, passed away Tuesday May 1, 2018 in Summerville, SC. Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Friday at the Reger Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jody Fortner. Burial will follow in Donahoe Family Cemetery, Wayne, WV. He was born September 19, 1934 in Wayne, WV, a son of the late Burl Reed Donahoe and America Adams Donahoe Aliff. He graduated from Buffalo High School and attended the Huntington College of Business. James was a supervisor of heavy equipment operation for Old Ben Coal Co, a division of British Petroleum at Thacker, WV. He was a specialist in mechanics, electrical and heating and air. He loved travel,camping and his pups, Lady and Angel. James was a nine year volunteer at Beech Fork State Park and a member of Sunshine Freewill Baptist Church. He was liked by all who met him and loved by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of 62 years Dorothy Ann Smith Donahoe; children Beverly Donahoe of Summerville, SC, Mike (Debbie) Donahoe of Charleston, WV, Cheryl Donahoe Harmon of Summerville, SC, Jimmy Donahoe of Ironton, Ohio, Faye DeFoe of Huntington, WV and Reed Donahoe; fourteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; sister Debbie Macvick of Dundalk, MD and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 11 am until service time on Friday at the Reger Funeral Home.
