Obituary



Betty Jane Sanders 91, of Roanoke Rapids NC, formerly of Huntington WVa, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence, Wednesday, May 30,2018.  Ms. Sanders was born November 3rd 1926 in Logan County W,Va to Warren and Josephina Fox. She was one of 11 children. She was preceded in death by her husband Drewey Sanders, a daughter Patricia Lynne Sanders, her parents Warren and Josephina Fox of Rum Creek WVa, 3 sisters, Macie Brewster and Mamie Smith of Switzer WVa. Louise Kunze of grove City Ohio. Five brothers Ray and Harry Fox of Greenbriar WVa. Dana Fox of Indiana, Theodore Fox of Idaho and Warren Fox of Holden WVa. A daughter in law, Sharon Altizer of Roanoke Rapids NC.  She is survived by a son Ted Altizer of Roanoke Rapids NC, a daughter Johnnie Evans and her husband Rick of Rush, Ky. Four grandchildren T.R. Altizer and wife Mina of Charlottesville Va. Amy Dillon and husband Carl of Ona WVa. James Johnson of Flatwoods KY, Tracey Bokoski of Chicago ILL. Eight great-grandchildren, Mathew Bokoski of Chicago ILL, Christina Evans Of Westwood Ky, Andrew Johnson of Flatwoods Ky, Donald Johnson of Rush, Ky, Gwenneth and Liam Altizer of Charlottesville Va, Rachael and Gavin Evans of Rush, Ky and a host of nieces and nephews spread across the United States. Special friends, neighbors and Pastors Cherille and Alvin Campbell of Roanoke Rapids NC.  Ms. Sanders was a retired Hair Stylist, who focused her time on her family and her church. A devout Pentecostal who never wavered in her faith and trust in the Lord. She was devoted to her constant companion and furbaby Julliette, a Shih Tzu who never left her side. She loved to sing for the Lord and often wrote the songs she sang. She also wrote poems about her life.  Visitation at 11:00 am Tuesday at Regers Funeral Home 1242 Adams Avenue Huntington WVa. Funeral at 12:00 pm following the visitation. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Pecks Mill.
