Mary Elizabeth Harshbarger
(April 26, 1935 - April 18, 2015)



Mary Elizabeth Harshbarger, 79, of Barboursville, passed away April 18, 2015. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Father Dean Borgmeyer. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park. She was born April 26, 1935 in Anawalt, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Seren Tagnesi. She was a retired registered OB nurse and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Penny Harshbarger. She is survived by her loving husband, Elmer “Tuffy” Harshbarger; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Wendell Workman and Brenda and Mike Shull, all of Milton; three sons and daughters-in-law, James Harshbarger of Milton, Joseph and Johnna Harshbarger of Huntington, and Anthony and Lisa Harshbarger of Barboursville; three sisters, Josephine Dickerson, Fannie Mae Rose, and Teresa Osburn, all of Roanoke, VA; four brothers, Sam Tagnesi of Bluefield, VA, John Tagnesi of Winchester, VA, Tommy Tagnesi of IL, and JoJo Tagnesi of Charleston, WV; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. The family would like to thank the various nurses at St. Mary’s Medical Center for her care and especially the hospice nurses, and staff and doctors from the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.
