LORENE C. ROOPER
(May 11, 1935 - April 8, 2015)



LORENE C. ROOPER, 79, of Barboursville, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel with Dr. David Lemming officiating. Burial will be in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. She was born May 11, 1935, in Coal City, W.Va., a daughter of the late Rev. James Wesley Cooper and Ada Nugen Cooper. Lorene served the Lord faithfully for more than 35 years as a pastor's wife. She was a retired legal secretary with Campbell, Woods and Bagley Law Firm and was a member of Springdale Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Jack Eldon Rooper, one son, David Rooper and two brothers, Rev. James Loyd Cooper and Rev. Carl J. Cooper. She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (Gary) Ferguson of Huntington, W.Va., and Robin (Jerry) Ramey of South Point, Ohio; two sons, Jack Alan Rooper of Scott Depot, W.Va., and Victor (Lori) Rooper of Hurricane, W.Va.; one brother, Ezra (Betty) Cooper of Hurricane, W.Va.; a sister-in-law Mary Jean Cooper of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. The family would like to thank the staff of Midland Meadows Senior Living for their loving care and support.
