DAVID ALLEN SMITH
(March 31, 1949 - April 9, 2015)

DAVID ALLEN SMITH, "SMITTY," 66, of Huntington, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Richard Childers at 2 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015, at Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel in Barboursville, W.Va. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. He was born March 31, 1949, the son of Samuel L. and Juanita Lucas Smith. David was a 1967 graduate of Barboursville High School and earned two associate degrees from Marshall University. Smitty was a member of the Green Valley Volunteer Fire Department until 2000 when he was injured while serving. He is survived by his sister Diana Childers (husband Darrell) of Harrisburg, N.C.; his stepmother Ilder Curry Smith of Barboursville; two nephews, Scott Childers and Kent Childers, both of Florida; two stepsisters, Patty Blake and Becky Abbott; one stepbrother, John Curry and one aunt, Marjorie Smith. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
