Sandra Darlene Estep
(July 29 1945 - June 11, 2015)



Sandra Darlene Estep, 69, of Huntington, passed away June 11, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Minister George Topping. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born July 29, 1945 in Huntington, a daughter of Glenna Shaw Estep of Barboursville, and the late Julian Edward Estep. She was a veteran of US Army Womens Corp. and a retired employee of the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Huntington. Some of her service for the Womens Army Corps included a tour at Walter Reed Hospital, Bethesda MD where she cared for the late First Lady Mamie Eisenhower and many Vietnam veterans. She continued after her service in the military to serve many more veterans as the supervisor of the blood bank at the Veterans Administration Hospital here in Huntington. Also surviving are her long time companion, Jeannette Engle; brother and sister-in-law, Sid and Madonna Estep of Barboursville and her niece, Marisa and Mike Stortz, of KY. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
