Obituary

DORIS JEAN SEAMAN
(April 1, 2016)



Doris Jean Seaman, 86, of Barboursville, formerly of Beckley WV, passed peacefully into the arms of her Saviour on April 1, 2016 at Huntington’s St. Mary’s Medical Center with both of her children present. A memorial service will be held at River Cities Community Church, Huntington, on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Greene officiating. She was born in Oak Hill, WV on February 8, 1930 and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1948. She married her beloved husband Chester Glenn Seaman Sr. in 1948 and had two children while living in Beckley. She worked for Central Printing and Bank of Raleigh in Beckley and volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital after moving to Huntington. She was a member of River Cities Community Church and loved her many friends there. She was preceded in death by her father Ernest Slater, mother Martha Staples Slater, stepmother Edna Harris Slater and husband Chester Glenn Seaman Sr., who passed in 1980. She was a loving, generous and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Dixie Billheimer of Barboursville, her son COL Chester Seaman Jr. and his wife Katherine of North Charleston, SC formerly of Cross Lanes. She was extremely proud of her four grandchildren, Dr. Megan Bartram of Milton, James Billheimer of Huntington, Dr. Heather Escoto of Carmel, IN, and Christopher Seaman of Roswell, GA. She dearly loved her eight great-grandchildren Addison Bartram, Olivia Bartram, Elijah Escoto, Isabella Escoto, Lucas Escoto, Mitchell Seaman, Blake Seaman, and Nathan Seaman. She was loved very much and will be deeply missed by all. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is in charge of arrangements.
