Robert "Bob" Paul Adkins
(1947 - July 27, 2016)


Robert “Bob” Paul Adkins, 68, went to the Lord on July 27, 2016 surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents Hiram and Mary Adkins, sister Sue Ann Goodall and son Michael Adkins. He is survived by his wife Flossie, two sons Steven (Diana) and Joseph (Kara), grandson Michael, two granddaughters Chelsea and Ava, great-granddaughter Harper, brother Forrest (Judy) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was born in Wayne County in 1947, graduated from Vinson H.S. in 1966, he was known then as Singin’ Bob. He attended Marshall University from 1966 – 1967, graduated from the WV State Police Academy and was a retired Cabell County Sheriff’s Deputy who was also one of the first State certified EMTs. While with the Sheriff’s Department, he rose to the rank of Sergeant. He was a supervisor for the road patrol and detective divisions. He was a Little League coach for 10 years in Milton, a Kentucky Colonel and Culloden Volunteer Fire Department Captain. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with the funeral service following at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Spring Valley Memory Gardens.
