Louisa Adkins
(1938 - July 11, 2016)



LOUISA ADKINS, 89 of Huntington, WV, daughter of the late James and Fannie Baisden Spry, the last of the siblings. A brief resident of Heartland of Riverview Nursing Home passed away July 11, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Terry Thompson. Burial will follow in Marion Adkins Cemetery, Raccoon Creek Road. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur "Mus" Adkins, a daughter Marcella Preece and an infant son. She had attended Macedonia Baptist Church through the years. She was an employee of the former Sylvania Plant, Huntington Dress Factory/Bofel Mfg/Decasper Corporation. She was also part of a cleaning crew for several businesses in the area. She was a very hard working woman who reared five children on her own. Surviving children are Pamela Blankenship, Beverly Adkins, Aletha Spears and Gary Preece, 11 grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
