Charles Raymond Moore
(January 5, 1932 - August 21-2017)


CHARLES RAYMOND MOORE, 85, of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away Monday, August 21, 2017, at Heartland of Riverview in South Point, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel with Pastor Zachary Johnson officiating. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, W.Va., with full military rites. He was born January 5, 1932, in Huntington, W.Va., in Cabell County, the first-born son of the late Walter and Ruby Viola Scott Moore. He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict from 1952 to 1954. He was also preceded in death by two sons, William Scott "Billy" Moore and Donald Ray Moore; his wife, whom he married on December 24, 1954, Shirley Ann Cowan Moore; four brothers, Kenneth O'Dell Moore, Leland Darrell Moore, Harold Lee Moore and Bernard Roy "Buddy" Moore; and one half-sister, Ruth Jeanette Weber. Surviving are his five daughters, Debra Kay (John) Gue of Salt Rock, W.Va., Patricia Sue (Joe) Hong of Largo, Fla., Alice Joy (Melvin) Eaves of Huntington, W.Va., Mary Ann Moore of Barnesville, Ohio, and Kelli Dawn (Steve) Malu of Gainesville, Fla.; three sons, Charles Raymond Moore Jr. and Terry Michael Moore, both of Huntington, W.Va., and David Lee Moore of Barboursville, W.Va.; one sister and brother-in-law, Joyce Ann (Jack) Burcham of South Point, Ohio; two brothers, Robert O'Neal "Bob" Moore of South Point, Ohio, and Garry Allen Moore of Kentucky; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
