Helen Frances Cottle Summerfield
(January 27, 1935 - August 17, 2017)


Helen Frances Cottle Summerfield, 82, of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord August 17, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with Dallas Moore and Rev. Danny McSweeney officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Helen was born January 27, 1935 in Cabell County, WV, a daughter of the late Halley and Opal E. McComas Cook. She was also preceded in death by her first husband of 43 years, James E. Cottle and the late Jim Summerfield. Helen was a member of Huntington First Church of the Nazarene and a long time member of the Win-A-Couple Class. She was a homemaker and “Mom” to just about everybody she came in contact with and came to love. She is survived by her son, Dan Cottle and his wife, Susan of Ft. Worth, TX; her daughter Leah Miller and her husband Kevin of Findlay OH; grandchildren, Kyle Miller and his wife, Tara of Findlay, OH, Ethan Miller of Boulder, CO, James Cottle and Andrea Cottle of Ft. Worth TX; great-grandchildren, Everett, Isaac and Vivian Rose Miller of Findlay, OH; special cousins, Phyllis Shockley, Wilma Smith, and Ronnie Cox. The family would like to thank Helen’s special friend Joan Cummings and Connie Richmond, who was loved as a daughter. Proverbs 31:28 Her children arise and call her Blessed. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home. I
