Obituary

Joy Charlene Ray
(March 1, 1961 - August 31, 2017)



Joy Charlene Ray went to be with the Lord August 31, 2017. Joy died at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Joy was born March 1, 1961 to Edsel and Delores Hager. Joy is survived by her devoted husband Bruce Ray; her father Edsel Hager; son Kenny Holton (daughter-in-law Heather); her aunt Margaret Johnson; her sister Jeanne Adkins (brother-in-law Bill Hall); two step-sisters, Anna Pritchard (Rusty Pritchard), and Tomi Jo Posey (Brother-in-law Troy); two stepsons, Chris Ray (wife April) and Cory Ray (wife Heaven); grandchildren, Isabella Holton, Logan Holton, Destiny Ray, Bryson Ray, Michael Ray and Bailey Jo Ray; a special nephew James Adkins; and nieces Jasmine and Tori Adkins. Joy had many special people that loved her, too many people to name each one, but they know who they are. Joy was employed by the Cabell County Board of Education where she worked for over 25 years. Joy's co-workers were her extended family and special to her. Visitation will be from 12 to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
