Harkins Junior “Jiggs” Frye, 79 of
Spring Hill,
FL formerly of
Columbus,
Ohio slipped away to be with
his Lord on Monday October 15, 2007 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House.
Military graveside services will be held on Wednesday October 17, 2007 at
11:00 AM at
Sunset
Cemetery,
Galloway,
OH. Burial will follow.
Harkins, Jr. was born August 23, 1928 in
Branchland,
WV a son of the late Wilburn
Frye and Kathleen Frye Gilbert. He was a Korean War Veteran with the 1st
Calvary-once wounded and lost in action. In
addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved first wife,
Sadako Frye, second wife, Mae Frye; brothers, William Jennings Frye, Cleo
Frye, and four half-siblings, Rev. Earl Frye, Rev. Clovis Frye, Hubert Frye,
Orangie Marie Frye Owens. He is survived by his beloved children, Rosemary
Frye Adams of
Huntington,
WV, Charlie Frye of
Columbus,
OH, Jo Ann Frye of
Gainesville,
FL; Arnold Frye of Cleveland,
OH; Dr. Howard Frye of Florence, SC; Jerry Frye and Judy Perry both of
Columbus; a stepdaughter, Rosalie Cook of Columbus; siblings, Beulah Roy of
Huntington; Kenneth Frye of Columbus; Jean Catron of Columbus; Carol Bennett
of Gretna, LA; James Frye of Columbus; Raymond Frye of Las Vegas, NV; Roger
Gilbert of Columbus, OH; a special son-in-law, Dr. Frederick Adams and
grandchildren, Brittany, Chelsey and Casey Adams all of Huntington; ten
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews and
cherished members of the North Cliffe Baptist Church in Spring Hill, FL
where he was a member and served as a deacon. In lieu of flowers those who
wish may make memorial contributions to the Hospice House of Huntington.
