Dorothy (Davis) Hunt
1918 - 2008
Dorothy Davis Hunt, 90, of
Huntington died Saturday Dec. 13,
2008 after a brief illness. Dot, as she was known to family and friends, was
a lifelong resident of
Huntington. She was born Sept.
21, 1918 to the late Denver Charles and Thelma Ida Davis. She attended
Huntington
High School and graduated from
Marshall
University. She taught
at
Poca
High School and was
office manager of Tri-State Appliance. She was a lifelong member of
Highlawn
United
Methodist
Church where she taught
Sunday school and was a member of the
Mary Martha Circle. She
was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Dot was well
known for her devotion to family, outgoing personality and charming wit. She
was an avid bridge player, bowler and fan of the Thundering Herd.
She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children,
Richmond Thomas “Bill” Hunt; her first husband, Staff Sgt. William Rogers;
sister Doris Davis and brother, Denver Charles “Chuck” Davis.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally (James) Bintz of Flossmoor,
Ill; Amy (Joel) Provano of
Marietta, GA; a sister, Margaret King of Olympia Fields, Ill.;
sister-in-law, Elizabeth Davis; four grandchildren, Meredith Czaplewski,
Caroline Bintz, Samuel Provano and Claire Provano; and a grandson-in-law,

services will be held on Saturday Dec. 20, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Beard

Woodmere
Memorial Park. The
family will receive friends after 10:00 AM on Saturday.
