Obituary
Eleanor M. (Boley) Vanhoose, 85, of
Huntington, passed peacefully
into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 8, 2008.
Waiting for her at the golden gate was her loving and faithful
husband of 60 years, Jack Vanhoose, who passed before her in 2004.
They are forever reunited. Eleanor was in the
care of the
Teays
Valley
Elder
Care
Center where she made
her home for the past four years. She was born February
25, 1923, in
Catlettsburg,
KY, daughter of the late Clyde
E. and Mamie Fisher Boley . She was also preceded in
death by a brother, James P. Boley of Huntington; two sisters, Mabel Workman
and Lena Holcomb of Proctorville, OH. She is survived by
her daughter, Sheila Lynn Clark of Huntington; son, Darryl Scott Vanhoose
and wife, Dreama of Culloden; brother, Harold E. Boley of South Point, OH;
sister, Ruby Lee Knight of Gainesville, FL; three grandsons, Christopher
Clark and wife, Laura of Columbus, OH, Jason Vanhoose and wife, Lisa of
Teays Valley, Matthew Vanhoose and wife, Heather of Charleston; five
beautiful great grandchildren, Jessica Kathleen Clark of Huntington, Lauren
Elizabeth Vanhoose, Joshua Scott Vanhoose, Evan Morgan all of Teays Valley,
and Jackson Whittier Vanhoose of Charleston. Eleanor was
retired from Stone and Thomas Dept. Store (previously Anderson Newcomb’s).
She was a long time member of
Highlawn
Baptist
Church where she served
as a children’s Sunday School Teacher touching many lives, and was a member
of the Koinonia Bible Class. She also served as the
children’s Sunday School teacher at
Hurricane
Baptist
Church for over a
decade. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM,
Friday, December 12, 2008 at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Jim Franklin
officiating. Burial will follow in
White
Chapel
Memorial
Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday, December 11, 2008 at
Beard Mortuary. “For believers in Christ, death is not
an end but a beginning. It means leaving this old world
behind and getting to a better place, completing the purpose for which we
were made. It’s a time for joy and excitement and a
hearty ‘Bon Voyage’.”
