      ObituaryRobert Hall “Bob” Vennell, 85, of
    
    Huntington, passed away Sunday, 
    October 19, 2008 at his residence.  A memorial service 
    will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Enslow Park 
    Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jim Fisher and the Rev. Eugene Ramsey 
    officiating.  He was born September 10, 1923 in 
    Huntington, a son of the late Leon I. and Winifred Hall Vennell. 
    He was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Hall Vennell, Jr.; one 
    brother, Leon Vennell; one sister, Ruth Wall and one granddaughter, Robyn 
    Vennell.  Mr. Vennell was a member of Enslow Park 
    Presbyterian Church.  He served in the US Army during 
    WWII; was a life member and past Quarter Master of the VFW Post 1064, life 
    member of the Disabled American Veterans, National Association of Letter 
    Carriers and National Association of Federal Employees.  
    Bob was the first four-letterman at
    
    Huntington
    East
    High School, lettering 
    in football, basketball, baseball, and track.  He was a 
    sports enthusiast and volunteered answering phones at River Cities Tires 
    after retirement.  He is survived by his son, Frank L. 
    Vennell of Huntington; six grandchildren, Lisa Vennell of Seattle, WA, Micah 
    Baisden of Crown City, OH, Jerod Brown of Lavalette, WV, Charity Hutchison, 
    Garrett Morrison and Jerica Morrison, all of Chesapeake, OH; and one sister, 
    Jean Coutros of PA.  Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m.
