Obituary

Zella M. Elkins, 85, of Huntington, WV, died Thursday, January 14, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Beard Mortuary. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Peck’s Mill, WV.  Mrs. Elkins was born Nov. 29, 1924 in Logan, WV, to Ked and Anna Mills of Logan. She was a member of Highlawn Presbyterian Church and was retired from Stone and Thomas. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward P. Elkins, Sr. and two children: Katrina Elkins and Edward P. Elkins, Jr.  She is survived by two sisters, Hazel Kinser of Mechanicsville, Va. and Barbara Brewer of Hereford, Arizona; several nieces and nephews, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Beard Mortuary.
