Obituary

Donald J. Snyder, 82, of Huntington, WV, passed away January 24, 2010, following an extended illness.  He leaves behind his children Gary and Vicki Snyder, Donna and Lloyd Brumfield, Jennifer and David Lilly, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, his sister Joann Conley, brother in-law Bernard Conley, sisters-in-law Evelyn Snyder and Anne Snyder, and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Faulkner Snyder; his parents Gerald and Rose Snyder; his sister Gwendolyn and brothers George, Russell and Duane, and his dog Buddy.  Don was a graduate of Man High School, served in WWII in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Snyder, and he was a member of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association.  Don was retired from the C&P Telephone Company and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.  He enjoyed walks with his dog, Buddy, spending time with his grandchildren and road trips with his family. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 PM January 30, 2010, at Beard Mortuary.  Services immediately following.  Interment to follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park.  For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
