Obituary

Christine Henington, 81, of Huntington, wife of Jim J. Henington, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Madison Park Senior Community in Huntington. She was born on April 25, 1928 in Lincoln County, WV, a daughter to the late Thomas and Hattie Nicholas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Starlene Spurlock; and one brother, Arnold Nicholas. In addition to her husband she is survived by three children, Doretha Asbury and her husband Kenneth, Aaron Spurlock, and Crystal Spurlock, all of Huntington; six step-children, four grandchildren, J.D. Stutler, Chris Spurlock and his wife Candy, Ashley Moore and her husband Ryan, and Rachel McCoy and her husband Shawn; three great-grandchildren, Ryley Moore, Autumn Stori McCoy, and Lyric Spurlock; four brothers and sisters, Harold Nicholas, Caroll Nicholas, Oliver Nicholas, and Pauline Collins. Christine was a life-long member of the 26^th Street Baptist Church, a devoted Christian mother who had a passion for southern gospel music throughout her life, and looked forward to eternity with Jesus. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Beard Mortuary with Mrs. Henington’s brother, Harold Nicholas, officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be J.D., Steve, Tom and Joey Nicholas, Chris Spurlock, and Kenny Asbury. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Friends may call on Friday evening from 7PM – 9PM at the funeral home.
