Long, MD and her husband, Jim T. Long, Jr., MD of Franklin, NC; a son, Thomas L. Romine and his wife, Joanna P. Romine of Winston-Salem, NC; three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Long of Syracuse, NY, Carrie Mae Long of Franklin, NC and Benjamin Thomas Romine of Winston-Salem, NC; a sister, Alice Mace of Spencer, WV; a brother-in-law, C.E. “Chuck” Romine and his wife, Phyllis Romine of Huntington; a sister-in-law, Ruth L. “Judy” Ashley of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ and several nieces and nephews.  Charles was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church.  He was a graduate of Spencer High School, attended Mountain State College in Parkersburg and Huntington School of Business.  He was a retired operations manager for Anderson Newcomb Company and Stone and Thomas Company.  Charles was a professional photographer and avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, camping and gardening.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  It was his wish to be cremated.  There will be no visitation.  A family celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th Ave.; Huntington, WV  25701 to further the comfort of patients who are fortunate enough to receive care from this wonderful organization.  Beard Mortuary is assisting the family.
