Edna Belle Hunter Perkins (Charles) Harper

Edna Belle Hunter Perkins Harper, 73, of Chesapeake, OH, wife of Judson “Jerry” Harper, went to join her Heavenly Father on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Eomogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV. She was born on January 17, 1937 in Huntington, a daughter to the late Joseph and Eula McClure Charles. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Glen G. Hunter M.D. and Ben Perkins; one sister, Sally Cromwell; and a son-in-law, Bob Jenkins. She is survived by one son, Jim (Kathi) Hunter of Columbus, OH; three daughters, Sandy Jenkins of Chesapeake, OH, Debbie (Jeff) Rucker of Proctorville, OH, and Lisa (Dwight) Webb of Chesapeake, OH; one brother, Joe (Lucy) Charles of Ashland, KY; and nine grandchildren: Stephanie (Joe) Kennedy, Seth Jenkins, Zach Hunter, Emily, Mackenzie and Jacie Rucker, Kyle, Kristen and Kolton Webb; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a homemaker devoted to her children and grandchildren, a lifetime member of the 20th Street Baptist Church, now known as the New Baptist Church, a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, was active with her husband in the El Hasa Shrine of Ashland, KY, and spent many years bowling in different leagues at Colonial Lanes in Huntington. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Trent Eastman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that those who wish may make contributions to the charity of their choice in Edna’s honor.
