Goldie Eloise Lane, 89, of Shenandoah Junction, WV and formerly of Huntington WV passed away Monday, September 27, 2010 at the Berkeley Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was a World War II Navy veteran and was a proud member of the Waves National and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, Howard P. Hall post 1064. She was born October 10, 1920 in Clendenin WV the daughter of George and Lunda (Bird) Osborne. Upon graduating from Clendenin High School she joined the U.S. Navy, serving four years primarily in Washington, D.C. She moved to Huntington, WV to further her education after military service. She met and married her husband Denzil L. Lane and they had two sons, Richard and Dana. She resided in Huntington for over 50 years. Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Denzil; son Dana; and only sister Greetis Graham. Survivors include: Son Richard and Daughter-in-Law Gloria (Rena) Lane of Shenandoah Junction, WV; Daughter-in-Law Brenda Dodson Lane of Ormond Beach FL; five grandchildren Richard E. Lane, James Lane, Rod Lane, Kerri Lane Lance, and Deanna Lane Magnusson and eight Great –Grandchildren.Viewing will be held on Friday, October 1st from 6 to 8 PM at Beard Mortuary in Huntington. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2nd at 11:00 AM at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Ron Burnsworth officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington.
