THOMAS JACKSON “JACK” VICKERS, 82, of Huntington went home to be with his Lord on December 19, 2011 at the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House in Huntington. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Anna Mae Vickers; daughter Vicki Lund-Jones; grandson, Larry “L.J.” Jones III, all of Huntington; niece, Linda (Tom) Rahn of Midway, GA, who were very special to him; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maude Ann Perry Vickers and father Thomas Landon Vickers; all of his brothers and sisters whom he loved and was loved by dearly. He leaves behind many dear friends that became like family and even to his last days he made new friends that treated him like family. He retired from WV American Water Company and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time at the Greenbrier River, fishing and visiting with friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Greg Creasy officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.
