Obituary

Kay F. Lambertus
(February 12, 1938 - April 2, 2014)

Kay Coach Lambertus, 76 of Huntington, WV passed away on Wednesday April 2, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Enslow Park Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chris Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV. Kay was born February 12, 1938 in Prenter, WV, the daughter of the late Ruby Keeney and Frank L. Coach. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Frank D. Coach. She graduated from Sherman High School and Marshall University with an Associate Degree in Marketing. Kay was very proud of being a member of Alpha Chi Omega and in later years served as Financial Advisor of the Alumni Chapter. While at Marshall University, Kay made a number of lifelong friends who have kept their friendships active. For fifty plus years, the group of ladies met for their monthly “Bridge Club” and fun. The family would like to thank each and every one of them for their love and kindness throughout the years. Kay and Frank have been active members of Enslow Park Presbyterian Church since 1963 and wish to thank them for all the help and support they have provided through the years. Kay was a member and past president of the Huntington Junior League and Woman’s Club, a member of PEO, and truly enjoyed helping others. She worked in the Financial Office of Cabell County Board of Education until her retirement. She is survived by her loving family, husband, Frank Lambertus, II; her children, Michele Marie (Jack) Weber of Charleston, WV; Frank Lambertus, III of Scottsdale, AZ and Laura Kay (Keith) Webb of Charleston, WV; four grandchildren, Bruce Hagley of Florida, Riley and Allyson Webb and Jack Weber of Charleston; a brother, Matthew Coach and wife, Linda of Damiansville, IL; and mother-in-law, Ernestine Lambertus of Des Moines, Iowa. When we think of Kay, we will always remember a loving, caring wife and mother who always had an ever present smile on her face and a kind word to say. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Enslow Park Presbyterian Church for the Frank and Kay Lambertus Christian Education Scholarship Fund, Hospice of Huntington or the Alzheimer’s Association. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington.
