DONNA KAY BEARD, 75, of Chesapeake, OH, wife of Charles Beard, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014. She was born on June 22, 1938 in Ironton, OH, a daughter of the late Vernon and Marie (Sark) Taylor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Butch Hughes and a sister, Miriam Taylor. She was a retired school teacher having taught at Collins Career Center. She was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Joy Circle. She is survived by her children, Joe Hughes of Riverview, FL, Debbie Hughes of South Point, OH, step-children, Kathy (Roger) Potter of Lexington, KY, Steve Beard of Russell Springs, KY and Cyndee (Mark) Grindley of Brandon, FL; sister, Linda (Ron) Eicher of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a special caregiver, Teena. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Steve Hamrick officiating. The family will receive friends after 4:00 p.m.
