Judy Mae Lafferty, 71 of Huntington, WV passed away on Thursday January 2, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Keith Watters officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00–5:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary. She was born February 18, 1942 in Huntington the daughter of the late Donald S. and Estella Mae Fugate Porter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her former husband and father of her children, Gary Ronald Lafferty and her grandson, Matthew Wade Kirk. Judy owned and operated The Professional Laser and Electrolysis Center for over 36 years, and was in the process of retiring. During her 36 years in business she developed many relationships with her clients whom she considered good friends, too many to mention, and over the years has maintained those friendships and has kept in contact with them. She is survived by her loving family, who have been by her side giving her support and strength during her illness, her children, Sherry (Richard) Ball of Estero, FL; Theresa (John) Kartheiser of Lexington, KY; Brett Lafferty of Tampa, FL and Ronnie (Stephanie) Lafferty of Starke, FL; grandchildren, Daniel (Bethany) Hanna, Rachel Mariee Atkins, Tiffany Wolf, Abram Lafferty, Samuel Kartheiser and Phoebe Mae Kartheiser, great-grandchildren, Jacob and Cameron Hanna and Abbi, Madison and Noah Wolf, step-mother, Saralyn Ward and step-sister, Barbara Jean Dillon both of Beckley, WV and a host of friends.
