Jean Ann Harker
(May 26, 1930 ~ December 16, 2017)

Jean Ann Harker, 87, of Huntington went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 16th.  She was born May 26, 1930 in Logan, WV, the daughter of the late Ernest (Jake) Brumfield and Eloise Brumfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard Lee Harker, her loving daughter Kimberly Sue Ward, brothers Morris Lee Brumfield and Jack Richard Brumfield, and Grandson David Christopher Ward.  She was a graduate of Huntington East High School and attended Marshall University. She was a member of the former Evangelical United Brethren Church and Otterbein United Methodist Church and was currently a member of Community of Grace. She was a school secretary at Buffington Elementary and Enslow Junior High School before moving to the Cabell County Board of Education as secretary over School Service Personnel. She is survived by her son Richard Lee Harker Jr and his wife Colleen Harker, five grandchildren Andrew Harker, Kristen Schneider, Allison Harker, Matthew Ward (Candice), Richard Ward (Suzanne), and six great grandchildren Makenna, Micah, Mason, Carrigan, Brody, and Remi. A Celebration of her Life will be Tuesday, December 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary.  The family will receive friends after 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park.
