Betty L.
Adkins Jordan
(March 6, 1926 - September 29, 2009)
In loving memory of Betty L. Adkins Jordan, she is
with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and Heavenly family that have gone
before her. "She is home at last." September 29, 2009. She was born March 6,
1926 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Doliver G. Adkins and Sibyl
Hicks Adkins Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
by her husband, Floyd S. Jordan; one sister, Bonnie L. Adkins; and a
brother-in-law, Don G. Patrick. She was a homemaker and was a member of
Trinity Church of God, Twenty-Seventh Street, Huntington, WV. She is
survived by two beloved sons and their wives, Danny F. Jordan (Janet) of
Princeton, NJ and Jim Jordan (Cindy) of Kissimmee, FL; four precious
grandchildren and their spouses, Jay Jordan (Erica) of Clemmons, NC, Jill "Brien
(Pat) of Princeton, NJ, Jennifer Blatt (Michael) of Huntington, and Jan
Capuano (Max) of Plainsboro, NJ; eleven little blessings great
grandchildren, Anna and Emily Jordan, Sean, Erin, Daniel and Brody O'Brien,
William and Grace Ann Blatt and Arianna, Sofia, and Anthony Capuano; and two
sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara Brown (Robert) and Janice Patrick of
Huntington. Other family members are her step brothers and step sister and
their spouses, Gary L. Hughes (Marilyn) of Huntington, Tim Hughes (Joyce) of
Indiana, and Marilyn Nichols (Tom) of Alabama; nieces and nephews; and other
family and friends, all of whom she loved dearly. Precious mother, loving
sister, God has gently called you home. Our parting is not forever. Your
love will live always in the memory and hearts of all those who had the
privilege of your acquaintance. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 pm
Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Chapman�s Mortuary, Huntington., with Rev. Ken
Toler officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park following the
service. Pallbearers will be Jay Jordan, Max Capuano, Pat O'Brien, Michael
Blatt, Josh Vannatter, and William Hannan. Friends may call from 11:30 AM to
12:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home. A dinner will be held in her honor at
the Fellowship Hall of Trinity Church of God following the funeral service.
