Marvin Lee Dinsmore
(October 31, 1942 - May 16, 2012)


Marvin Lee Dinsmore, 69, of Huntington, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 PM Tuesday May 22, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Reverend Phil Wilson officiating. Burial with military graveside rites performed by Veterans Honor Guard, Post 16 will be in Susie Chapel Cemetery, Huntington. Marvin was born October 31, 1942 in San Francisco, CA, a son of the late Donald V. and Phyllis Loraine Rothenay Dinsmore. His life companion of 34 years, Violet Gue Elder, and stepson, Timmy Eugene Elder, also preceded him in death. He graduated in 1960 from Central High School in Sioux City, IA. After serving in the U.S. Navy he worked as a mechanic for Anchor Hocking Corporation in South Gale, CA. When he moved to Huntington he worked at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Survivors include four sons, Kevin Dinsmore and Randy Dinsmore of Sacramento, CA, and Michael L. Elder, and Danny L. Elder and his wife Barbara, all of Huntington; a daughter, Terry Elder of Huntington; three brothers, Jimmy Dinsmore and wife, Linda K, of Blair, NE, Randy Dinsmore of Omaha, NE, and Gene Dinsmore and his wife, Nancy of Missouri Valley, IA; two sisters, Linda Summers and husband, Jerry and Patty Stueve and husband, John, all of Missouri Valley, IA; 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Monday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
