Jacklee Cremeans
(August 10, 1933 - December 25, 2014)



Jacklee Cremeans, 81, of Huntington, husband of loving, caring, devoted wife, Marjorie Patrick Cremeans, went to be with the Lord after an extended illness on Thursday December 25, 2014. Going Home services will be conducted 3:00 pm, Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary with Pastor Gordon L. Rutherford officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by Veterans Honor Guard Post 16, will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Jacklee was born August 10, 1933 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Albert and Cena Elkins Cremeans. In addition to his parents he had an infant sister, Doris Mae Cremeans; a sister, Levina Blower; two brothers, Vernon Cremeans and Mitchell Cremeans; a mother-in-law, Laura E. Patrick; and lifelong friend, Richard L. Smith, Sr., precede him in death. Jacklee graduated from Barboursville High School, was a U.S. Navy veteran that attended, 21, USS Shelton and USS Roanoke Naval reunions across the U.S., and retired from ACF Industries after 33 years. He was a member of the Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where he loved to sing in the choir, loved to volunteer at the VA Hospital and was an avid fisherman that enjoyed fishing with his buddies in South Carolina. In addition to his wife survivors include one daughter; two step daughters, Lisa Broce, and Butch Smith (lifelong friend) of Huntington, Beth Tatum and Ronnie Tackett, of Kenova; step son, Tony Gray of Sunbury, OH; grandsons, Kayden Zane Black of Ona, WV, and Airman 1st Class Zachery Shane Black stationed in Texas, who were the love of his life, who were raised by their father, Shane and Trena Black of Ona, WV.; a sister, Arlene (Vandal Noble), of Ona; two brothers, Claude (Phyllis Cremeans) of Wheelersburg, OH, and Donald (Ruby Cremeans) of Toledo, OH; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Cremeans, Billie Burcham, and Janice Patrick: brother-in-law, Eugene Blower, lifelong friend Gerald S. Keeney, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all his doctors at HIMG and a special thank you to his light, and loving angel, Jackie Jackson. Jacklee loved his family and his church family. Donations would be appreciated to the Olive Missionary Baptist Church-Women’s Missionary Fellowship, located at 6286 Little Seven Mile Road, Huntington, WV 25702, or the charity of one’s choice. Friends may visit with the family 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington.
