Obituary

Darrell D. Davis
(September 13, 1929 - December 17, 2014)



Darrell D. Davis, 85, of Ona, WV, husband of Lillian M. Davis, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born September 13, 1929, in Huntington, WV, the son of the late Morland Davis and Eva J. Coleman Davis Denny. In addition his brother, Vincent Davis also preceded him in death. Darrell was a retired machinist with AK Steel, an avid golfer, bowler, pool player and loved to throw horseshoes. His other passion was his hobby with Woodworking, spending many hours in his shop. In addition to his wife survivors include two daughters, Sue Davis of Huntington and Linda Davis of Proctorville; two sons, Allen Davis and David Davis both of Huntington; a brother and sister- in-law, Richard and Sue Davis of Wellston, OH; four step sons and spouses, Ernie and Heather Fuller of Myrtle Beach, SC, Samuel Chapman II and Connie Chapman of Norwalk, OH, Walt and Janet Chapman of Nebraska, and James and Theresa Chapman of Huntington; a step daughter, Barbara Maynard of South Point, OH; 11 grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Mary Louise Chapman, and 11 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Barbara A. Lockhart of Melrose, FL, and several nieces; and good friends, Roger Collins, and Debbie and Carl Legg. The family would like to thank Dr. Collins, Dr. Snyder, HIMG, and the St. Mary’s Home Health Care for their compassion and help. Darrell requested cremation without any formal services and the inurnment will take place at the White Chapel Mausoleum in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. The family wishes donations be made to the Kidney Foundation in his name.
