Sidney Buford Roberts, age 79 of Lesage, WV, widower of Ella Lucas Brumfield Roberts passed from this life on September 9, 20l6, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with the Rev. James P. Jefferson officiating. Burial will follow in Arthur Cemetery, Ona, WV. Buford was a former employee of Houdaille Industries, and was a US Army Veteran, having served in Korea. He was born January 5, 1937 to the late Sidney Pearl and Betty McComas Roberts. Also preceding him in death were three sisters: Hazel Jefferson, Edith McComas and Maxine Smith; two brothers: Orval and Albert Roberts and one special nephew, Roger Roberts. He is survived by two sisters: Ruth Scarberry and Dorothy (George) Winters both of Lesage; a brother, Curtis E. (Carolyn) Roberts of Lesage; two stepdaughters Pamela (Donald) Steele of Vale, NC, Karen (Eddie) Massie of Milton, WV, and one stepson, Richard Brumfield of Hanceville, AL. He also is survived by five step granddaughters and seven step grandsons. Pallbearers will be nephews: Arnold Jefferson, James F. Roberts, Robert D. Scarberry, David Winters, Brent Roberts, great nephew Brandon Roberts and lifelong friend Gary Williams. Friends may pay their respects from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that if you wish, donations may
be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
