Obituary



Doris "Ann" Thompson, 85, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, September 30, 2016, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Ann was born November 25, 1930 in Huntington a daughter of the late Ora Lester and Imogene E. Gothard Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. "Tommy" Thompson, Jr.; a son, James Michael "Jim" Thompson; and a sister, Betty Belle (Chris) Mayo. She was the first Teacher's Aide in Cabell County, retiring after 18 years, and was a member of Community of Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include: a son, Scott Thompson; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Thompson; two grandchildren, Shannon (Dave) Brangaccio and Ryan Gaeger; three step great grandchildren, David Ryan Brangaccio, Mitchell Thomas Brangaccio and Jason Adam Brangaccio; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary (Larry) Farley and Loretta Barrett; a nephew, Lawrence Joseph (Linda) Mayo; and a host of other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, October 3, 2016, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Steven Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am Monday at Chapman's Mortuary.
