Obituary



Estle "Steve" Stevens, 85, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2019, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. He was born January 29, 1934 in Huntington a son of the late Russell and Sarah Belle Cooper Stevens. His wife, Janet Stevens; three sisters; and a brother, preceded him in death. He was retired from INCO; was a member of Farmdale Church of Christ; and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Craig Harshbarger and Crystal Crouch and a very special son-in-law, Jamie Houck, all of Ona, WV; a son and daughter-in-law, Shawn D. and Susan Stevens of Huntington; eight grandchildren, Caleb, Kaytlin (Logan), Cory, Skylar (Nikki), Autum (Damon), Bryar, Rachel and Ryan; eight great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sue and Roger Kingery of Ona and Anyce Carter of Lesage, WV; a brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Sharon Stevens of Milton, WV; a very special niece, Robin Lute of Lorain, OH; and a special friend and caregiver, Marshall Sawyers. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospice House and Dr. Chandos Tackett for their totally amazing care. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Friday, February 8, 2019, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Greg Wagoner officiating. VFW Post 6878 of Proctorville will conduct military rites. Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
