Benjamin Franklin Manis, Jr.


Benjamin F. (Bennie) Manis, Jr., 78, of Kenova, WV, died Saturday July 11, 2020 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday July 15, 2020 at the England Hill Free Will Baptist Church (10201 Mayo Trail Rd, Catlettsburg, KY) with Pastors Willie May and Kim Stone officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Memorial Park at Docks Creek Cemetery. Bennie was born September 21, 1941 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Benjamin F Manis, Sr and Gustiva Spence Manis. He was a car enthusiast for many years and a member of the England Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of almost 60 years, Shirley Christian Manis, two sons, Michael (Nita) Manis of Ormond Beach, FL, Terry (Lesli) Manis of Richmond, VA, three grandchildren, Jesse (Erena) Manis of Ormond Beach, Emmalee and Seth Manis both of Richmond and Remy Stevens; one great grandson, David Benjamin Manis of Deland, FL, a niece, Anita Stevens, a sister-in-law Becky Stevens; and his lifelong friend, John Keyser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tara Nicole Manis. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Diana Fudge of Kenova and the Spurlock Flowers family. Those who wish can view the service via Facebook at England hill free will Baptist. Visitation will be from noon until 1:00 PM Wednesday at the church.
