Obituary


David Bruce Blankenship


David Bruce Blankenship, 70, of Huntington, WV, died Monday April 19, 2021 at his residence. David was born December 4, 1950 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Jack D. and Harline Cantrell Blankenship. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Vinson Memorial Christian Church and a life member of the American Legion Post 16. He retired from CSX Railroad with 25 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Blankenship; two daughters, Rebecca (Jody) Mathis of Parkersburg, WV, and Rachel Blankenship of Huntington; two sons, David Bruce (Amy) Blankenship II of Huntington and Micah (Rebecca) Blankenship of Norfolk, VA; one brother, Tommy (Teresa) Blankenship of Roanoke, VA, ten grandchildren, Casey, Makayla, Benny, Connor, Kaylea, Joshua, Zander, Luke, Emma and Virgil; a niece, Janelle Morgan; and nephew, Joshua Blankenship. Memorial services will be conducted at noon Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Bob McGlone officiating. American Legion Post 93 will conduct Military Rites. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
