Obituary


Ellen Jean Carpenter


Ellen Jean Carpenter, 86, of Huntington, widow of William Carpenter, died Sunday, September12, 2021 at her son's house in Proctorville, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM Friday, September 17, 2021 at Chapman's Mortuary with Pastor Donald Scott officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. She was born July 10, 1935 in Glenwood, WV, a daughter of the late Addison and Ethel Mae Flora Waugh. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Stacey Fleeman; and three sisters, Betty Deal, Martha Hicks, and Hazel Ferguson. She worked in the laundry at the former Mariner Health Care in Huntington. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joanie Marie and David Reynolds of Nashville, TN, Patricia "Patty" Ann and Steve Carter of Huntington, and Cindy Lou Al-Zayyat of Saudia Arabia; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bob McClary of Hurricane, WV, and Frederick and Chasity Webb of Proctorville, OH; eleven grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Chapman's Mortuary.
