Obituary

Idabelle Nida Stephens "Granny", 96, of Wayne County, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008 at Emogene Dolin Hospice House of Huntington. Service will be 2 pm Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington, with Pastor Dennis Morrello officiating. Interment will follow at the Adkins Family Cemetery, Beechfork, WV. Idabelle was born October 21, 1911 in West Hamlin, WV, a daughter of the late Herbert and Idabelle Webb Nida. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ishmael Lee Stephens; five sisters, Nellie J. Gue, Lillian M. Adkins, Babe Nida, Earlisee Faye, and Esta Dolan; six brothers, Wm. Earl Nida, Earnest V. “Jack” Nida, William C. Nida, Jessie J. Nida, Herman W. Nida, Johnie “Little John” Nida. She is survived by one daughter, Reedith (Larry) Henry of Wayne; six sons, James (Nancy) Stephens of Huntington, Larry (Mary) Stephens of Ona, Rodger (Janet) Stephens of Wayne, Michael (Donna) Stephens of Glenwood, Billy (Mary) Stephens of Wayne and Bobby (Suney) Stephens of Spring Valley; one sister, Norma Berry, two brothers, Rev. Herbert S. (Irene) Nida Jr. and Rev. Calvin Coolidge Nida; 29 grandchildren; 59 great grandchild; 9 great-great grandchildren; and a special, former daughter-in-law, Shirley Stephens. Visitation will be 1 pm until service time at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home.
