Corinthia Barnes
(October 5, 1925 - January 7, 2021)



Corintha Mae Wheeler Barnes

   of Huntington, WV, passed-away at home on Wednesday, January 7, 2021 at the age of Ninety-Five years, Three months & Two days. Corintha was born in Marmet, WV to parents: James Wilson Wheeler and Willa Mae Higginbotham.  She was preceded in death by her husband David Parker Barnes, Sr. and daughter Anne Michelle Barnes. She was a member of Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist Church.  

   Survivors include her son, David Parker Barnes, Jr. (Julie Ann Huron) of Huntington; grandchildren, Parker David Barnes, Brooklyn, NY; Ryan Wilson Barnes, Taos, NM, and Phoenix Andrew Huron, Washington Grove, MD.  

   Corintha was loved by countless relatives from Huntington, WV, East Orange, NJ, Rockville, Bethesda, Silver Spring, Fredericksburg, MD, Columbus, OH, Cincinnati, OH and Los Angeles, CA.  Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.  
   A special thank you David’s childhood friends, current friends, relatives, neighbors, and former co-workers at Special Metals, for their years of invaluable help, love and support.  Also, thank you to Dr. David Patick, the staff at CVS 20th Street, the staff at Cabell Huntington Homecare Medicine, Dr. Cindy Pinson, and Hospice of Huntington.
