Tonetta Marie Scott

Tonetta Marie Scott 

   Of Huntington, WV, passed away January 22, 2021 at the age of Sixty-Three years, Ten months & One day.  She was born April 21,1957 to the late Imogene Scott and James S. Byrd Senior. In addition to her parents, Tonetta was also preceded in death by her sister: Zylphia McAllister; brother: James Steward Byrd Junior, nephew: John Pierson; cousins: Valarie Brown, Necia Brown, Lisa Motley, Teesa Brown and Antwan Grant She was also the niece of late John E. Hawkins Jr. and Robbie Alice Motley. 

   She graduated as a Pony Express from Huntington High School in 1976. For those who knew Tonetta she was popular as the guru to knowing the name of any song, TV show or movie. She brightened many people’s lives by her big beautiful smile, her down to earth character and shared her loving spirit.

  Tonnetta was a dedicated and hard worker who loved her job: She had a passion for helping others and working over 18 years for WV Choice Home Help Services. 

   She was highly proud of her only child: Sheneka Scott and only granddaughter: Jeanise Graves of Columbus, OH. She leaves behind sisters: Francine Byrd Pierson of Huntington, WV; Linda Byrd Deering of Cincinnati, OH; nephew: Joseph Pierson, Sean (Fallon) Miller of Huntington, WV; niece: Amber (Changez) Durrani, Shawna Parks of Cincinnati, OH, Sonya Byrd of Denton, TX, nephew: Nate Harvey, Jason Dees and niece: Angela (Kevin) Burks of CA. She took pride in helping raise her young cousins Cieasha Brown and Thomas White Jr. of Huntington, WV. She was raised with cousins: Eva and Tina Motley of Huntington, WV; Tony and Keith Brown of Huntington, WV and Robbie Brown of Clearfield, PA. She was loved dearly by her younger cousins: Robbie Allison Motley, Alphonso Brown, of Huntington, WV, Clyde Brown of Akron, OH, Derek Brown and Korey Long of Wheeling, WV, Latisha Jordan Lexington, KY, Kaitlyn (Rodney) Thorne Moorefield WV and many other relatives.

   A Private Home-Going Service will be held at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington, WV with Bishop Samuel Moore officiating. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington, WV is honored to serve the Scott family.
