Thomas Melvin Kingery, Sr., 94 of Huntington passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Pastor Gordon Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Templeton Cemetery, Glenwood. He was born November 7, 1921 in Cabell County, WV. He was the last surviving son of the late Armster and Nettie Sheets Kingery. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Kingery; grandson, Eric McComas; great grandson, Eric Donald Painter; three brothers; and four sisters. He is survived by one son, Thomas Jr. and his wife, Freda; four daughters and one son-in-law, Phyllis Kingery, Karen and Ronnie Adkins, Sandra Runyon and Debbie Scarberry; family friend, Debbie Jenkins “the other one” and a very special friend; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Tom was an “old time fiddler” who loved Bluegrass music. He had made many friends over the years through his bluegrass music. He retired in 1985 from the Cabell County Board of Education after driving a school bus for 38 years. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 1 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
