Obituary

BOBBY LEONARD CHAPMAN, 69, of Milton, passed away Tuesday, January 27, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with the Rev. Joe Dolen officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born July 24, 1934, a son of the late Ralph and Verba Perry Chapman. He was a member of Valley of Decision Church. Bobby retired from the Nickel Plant after 38 years of service. He was a life long member of the Mountaineer Sportsman Gun Club and also belonged to the NRA. Bobby was also a member of the FOP and served on the Milton Police Department. He dedicated many years of his life to the Little League as a coach and chief umpire. He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert D. and Ann E. Chapman and Darrin C. and Tammy Chapman; one daughter, Bonita Porter; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Johnny E. Chapman and Richard and Jean Smith; two sisters, Louise Vanover and Gladys "Sissy" Bragg; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
