Obituary

Solon W. Knapp, 90, of Huntington, WV passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2007.  Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2007 at Apostolic Life Cathedral with Pastor Harper officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenbottom Cemetery.  Solon was born September 9, 1916 in Cabell County, a son of the late, Pearl and Lela Nottingham Knapp.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Lois May Knapp.  He is survived by five children, Sue Duncan of Gallipolis Ferry, Arlene (Jack) Rhodes of Ripley, Bernard (Brenda) Knapp of Chesapeake, Dennis Knapp of Huntington and Donna (Jerry) Higginbotham of Pt. Pleasant; one sister, Beulah Jeffers of Guyandotte; one brother, Garland Knapp of Lesage; 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the church.
