Obituary

Garnet Virginia Harless, 89, of Culloden, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 in Huntington Health and Rehabilitation.  Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Minister Tony Stowers, Elder Rob Prichard, and Elder Ed Covert officiating.  Burial will follow in Maupin Cemetery, Milton.  She was born January 20, 1921 in Cabell Co., WV a daughter of the late Homer, Sr. and Arzina M. Nottingham Chapman.  She was also preceded in her death by her husband, Thomas A. Harless; sons, Thomas Harless and Virgil Lee Harless; daughter, Betty Ann Harless; brother, Homer Chapman, Jr.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Hurricane Church of Christ.  She is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Tom) Baughman of Anderson, SC and Honey Lou Harless of Huntington; six sons, Paul Lawrence (Barb) Harless of North Madison,OH, William (Sue) Harless of Grayson, KY, James (Dee) Harless of Eagleville, TN, Melvin (Wanda) Harless of Huntington, Clarence (Mary) Harless of Ashland, KY, and Donald Harless of Huntington; half sister, Alberta Adams of Huntington; half brother, Virgil “Butch” Chapman of Ona; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.  Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
