Obituary
Billy B. Conner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend born on January 7, 1933 to the late Albert and Lettie Harbour Conner, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at home after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife, the former Louis Mae Harshbarger; daughter, Debra and her husband, Justin Lockwood; granddaughter, Sophia Iris Lockwood all of Barboursville. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by brother, Raymond and two infant brothers; sisters Clara Chapman, Katherine Windsor, and Tina Allen; as well as in-laws, Hubert and Ora Harshbarger, Bob Rickard, Jack Davis, Ezra Chapman, Charlie Windsor, Clyde Allen, and Anna Moses Conner. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Nicholas of Milton; brother, Charles Conner of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Billy graduated from Milton High School where he was a drummer and FFA member. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a mechanic and professional truck driver, as well as supervisor of truck drivers. He was employed by Case, Carrolls, Epes, Zerkle, and Cardinal. He was a member of the Milton United Methodist Church following his baptism in the CCC Dam as a teenager. He was known for his compassionate nature, generosity, and honesty throughout his life. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Keith Leap officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park with military graveside rites by the American Legion, Post 139 Milton.
