Doris Jean Sovine, 83, of Culloden, WV passed peacefully to be with her Lord on December 16, 2015. She was born in Hurricane, WV on March 12, 1932 to the late Theodore and Beulah Meadows Taylor. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Taylor and a sister, Alice Moore. Jean was a member of Culloden Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Ronnie Sovine (Paula), Drema Sovine (Clarence), Beverly Gillenwater (Roy); grandchildren, Jeremy Sovine, Matt Sovine, Mark Gillenwater and Darrin Gillenwater; siblings, Dorothy Doss and Carol Taylor and a special sister-in-law, Ruby Sovine; she also leaves behind her former partner in life, Dempsey Sovine. She will be missed beyond measure by her family and friends. Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 18 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 19 with Pastors Claude Spurlock and James Jobe officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.
