BARBER LEONARD E. BARBER, 87, of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, January 2, 2009 at the Morris Memorial Nursing Home, Milton, WV. He was born June 5, 1921 in Eskdale, WV, to the late Luther E. and Jennie Harvery Barber. He was married to Willidean Barber who survives him. He was a member of Grace Gospel Baptist Church. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII., and was recognized in Ken Hechler's book, "The Bridge at Remagen." and he was a member of the VFW Post #1064 in Huntington. He was a retired salesman for Surperior Cadillac. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Stephen M and Martha Glasgow of Knoxville, TN, and Gregory P. Barber of Huntington. One sister, Essel Janet McComas of Barboursville, three Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren. There will be a graveside service, Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Springhill Cemetery in Huntington with the Rev. Jerry Matt officiating. There will no visitation. HENSON MORTUARY, BARBOURSVILLE, is handling arrangements for the family.
